The Bana Project of Lesotho
Logos Global Ministries is an international Christian humanitarian organization "Living Out God's Commands" by caring for children in Lesotho, Africa, whose parents have died from AIDS or other causes and left them to fend for themselves. We give them food, drink, shoes, blankets, school uniforms, and skills of self-preservation.
Like most nations in Africa, Lesotho is smitten with many diseases, including AIDS, and suffers much death and dying. Starvation is not as acute as in other near-by countries, but has begun to make deep inroads into this beautiful country. The ratio of death by AIDS is still discussed very little in Lesotho, but is being addressed by many organizations and attention is being drawn from around the entire world to give Lesotho as much help as possible. LGM is doing all we can to minister to the dying, giving support to orphans, and being an integral part of their community. We are involved in much more than the church and spiritual activities. Job creation, vocational assistance, educational emphasis and agricultural involvement are among our interests.
We have many partners who have caught the vision to help Lesotho. Our supporters come from those who have compassion in their hearts for the wonderful people of Africa. Missionaries are needed, but more so Partners, Mentors, Friends, and people to walk along beside of the people of Lesotho in their daily lives; people to encourage them, love them, and to give of themselves.
Bana means children
Bana means children in the Sesotho language. Bana: the children of Lesotho, Africa, who need real care! Bana: the life-giving focus of Logos Global Ministries [LGM], which now cares for hundreds of AIDS orphans, leveraging indigenous networks for critical training and care. LGM has quietly become a permanent presence in this desperate country, working through its Lesotho arm, THE BANA PROJECT OF LESOTHO, to offer hope in the midst of seemingly hopeless circumstances. These people are threatened on every side for daily existence. For them The Bana Project is a miracle of hope: Loving eyes that look to the children, see their desperate needs, and offer them a better future.
